Standard form would be helpful, y=a%28x-h%29%5E2%2Bk. The vertex is the point, (h,k). You have in this format, y=a%28x-2%29%5E2-12 and using the other given point, the origin, form the equation 0=a%280-2%29%5E2-12 allowing to find the value for "a".

0=4%2Aa-12
4a=12
a=3

Finish the values in the standard form equation:
