Question 74019: I need help on one of the questions on my final study guide.
A quadratic function g has a vertex (2,3) and passes through the point of (0,6). Write the equation of the axis of symmetry of the graph of g.
Thank you.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! A quadratic function g has a vertex (2,3) and passes through the point of (0,6). Write the equation of the axis of symmetry of the graph of g.
-------------
Plot the two points and sketch the possible two parabolas that could
have that vertex and pass through that point; one parabola could open
up, another could open to the left.
--------------
Let's assume it opens up.
Then the axis of symmetry is a vertical line passing through (2,3)
The equation of that line is x=2.
--------------
If you assume the paragola opens to the left
the axis of symmetry is a horizontal line passing through (2,3)
The equation of hat line is y=3.
---------------
Cheers,
Stan H.
