2x+y=100, y=100-2x now replace y by (100-2x) in the next equation thus:
xy=1200
x(100-2x)=1200
100x-2x^2=1200
-2x^2+100x-1200=0
x^2-50x+600=0
(x-20)(x-30)=0
x-20=0
x=20 answer
x-30=0
x=30 answer
20*Y=1200
20Y=1200
Y=1200/20
Y=60 ANSWER
THE DIMENTIONS FOR THE FENCE IS 20x60=1200
30Y=1200
Y=1200/30
Y=40
OR 30x40=1200
