(x-3)(x+1)(2x-9)=0
because this =0 then either one of the expressions in the brackets can =0, (because anything times zero equals zero) so we get
(x-3)=0 OR
(x+1)=0 OR
(2x-9)=0
Solving each one of these gives
x=3 OR
x=-1 OR
x=9%2F2%29
