You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I am supposed to solve 3x^2-17x+5 by graphing and I am having trouble finding the zeros can you please help me?
----
You don't need the zeroes to graph the parabola.
----
vertex occurs at x = -b/(2a) = 17/6
f(17/6) = 3(17/6)^2 - 17(17/6)+ 5 = -19.08
Vertex: (2.8333,-19.08333)
-------
y-intercept: Let x = 0, then y = 5 giving you point (0,5)
-------
Plot a few points around x = 2.8 such as x = 1,2,3,4
---
Sketch the curve.
----
Note: Zeroes can be found using the Quadratic Formula:
x = 5.355 and x = 0.3112..
