Question 58014: in which quadrant are the following points located? 3,-1
and can you explain so i can do the rest of them?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! 3,-1 is in quadrant 4,
you follow the x axis to the right 3 units and move down 1 unit. so you are in the bottom right box.
Quadrants 1 starts at the upper right hand of a graph, however the other quadrants are numbered in a counter clockwise direction.
so upper right is quadrant 1
upper left is quadrant 2
lower left is quadrant 3
lower right is quadrant 4
to find what quadrant your point is in, plot it on your graph and see where it relates in the above quadrants.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! THERE ARE 4 QUADRANTS IN THE GRAPHING SYSTEM.
THE UPPER RIGHT (+,+), THE UPPER LEFT (-,+), THE LOWER RIGHT (+,-), & THE LOWER LEFT (-,-).
THUS THE POINTS (3,-1) IS IN THE LOWER RIGHT QUADRANT.
