Assume the problem is:
y%5E2+=+%282%2F7%29y+%2B+1%2F7

y%5E2+-+%282%2F7%29y+-+1%2F7 = 0
from the sign of the 3rd term (-1/7) we know one solution will be negative and one solution will be positive

You can solve it using the quadratic formula, make the coefficients integers;
multiply by 7. Then a=7, b=-2, c=-1
