You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graph the line that passes through the points (-1, 3) and (9, -7)?
What are the x- and the y-intercepts for this line?
..
Standard equation for a line: y=mx+b,with m=slope and b=y-intercept.
using given points,(-1,3) and (9,-7)
slope,m=change in y/change in x or rise/run
m=-7-3)/(9-(-1))
=-10/10=-1
y=(-1)x+b
solving for b using point(-1,3)
3=(-1)*-1+b
3=1+b
b=2
Equation: y=-x+2
x-intercept, y=0
0=-x+2
x=2
ans:
y-intercept=2
x-intercept=2
