Let x and (x+5in) represent the width and length respectively

Question states***

  2(x+5in) + 2x = 30in

Solving for x

   4x = 20

    x = 5in, the width.  The length is 10in   (5in + 5in)

CHECKING our Answer***

 2*10in + 2*5in = 20in + 10in = 30in
