Squaring both sides,

4x%5E2+%2B+8x+%2B+4+=+25x

4x%5E2+-+17x+%2B+4+=+0

x+=+%2817+%2B-+sqrt%28289+-+64%29%29%2F8+=+%2817+%2B-+15%29%2F8 = 4 or 1/4

Checking, both solutions work.
