Question 373397: How do you find the vertex, axis of symmetry, minimum or maximum value of a quadratic function?
Answer by kac123kac(8) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The axis of symmetry will be the same number as the x value of the vertex. Use the equation x = -b/2a to find this. x will be your axis of symmetry. Next, you must substitute these x values into your equation and solve. This answer you get will be your y value. Vertex = (x,y). Your vertex will also give you your min/max... whether or not it is a min or max depends on if the parabola is facing upwards or downwards.
