Start by "collecting" the b's on one side of the equation:

subtract d from both sides b+%2B+d+-d+=+a%2Ab+%2B+4+-+d, the equation becomes b+=+a%2Ab+%2B+4+-+d

subtract a*b from both sides b+-+a%2Ab+=+a%2Ab+%2B+4+-+d+-+a%2Ab, the equation now becomes b+-+a%2Ab+=+4+-+d

take out b as a common factor on the left-hand side of the equation, the equation is now b+%2A%281+-+a%29+=+4+-+d

Now divide both sides by (1 - a) and the you've solved for b b+=+%284-d%29%2F%281-a%29
