Question 327504: This problem was under the section Quadratic equations and problem solving... in my book. The problem is:
The sum of the squares of two consecutive negative integers is 221. Find the integers. I worked out the problem to make it a quadratic. My question is: How does the book get the answer of -10 and -11? I don't understand when... subsituting the numbers into the first sentence gets the right answer.
