Question 314311: Hey, I really need help with this one.
Solve.
6x%5E2+%2B+13x+%2B+6+=+0

Answer by rapaljer(4671) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6x%5E2%2B13x%2B6=0
%283x%2B2%29%282x%2B3%29=0

There are two solutions:
3x+2=0
3x=-2
x=-2/3

2x+3=0
2x=-3
x=-3/2

There are TWO major concepts needed to solve this problem: "Quadratic Equations," and what I call "Advanced Trinomial Factoring."

For additional help with these topics, please see my OWN website by clicking on my tutor name "rapaljer" anywhere in algebra.com. Click on my website which is given there, and look on my Homepage for the link "Basic, Intermediate, and College Algebra: One Step at a Time." Select "Basic Algebra", and look in "Chapter 2" for "2.09 Quadratic Equations" or "2.06 Advanced Trinomial Factoring." In addition to a detailed explanation, with examples, exercises, and ALL the answers, many of the exercises are solved IN COLOR on the "Math in Living Color" pages that go with these sections.

Also, if you have trouble with FACTORING, I have a video that was made a few years ago in one of my classrooms, that can be viewed from my website FREE. To see the videos look on my Homepage for the link "Rapalje Videos in Living Color." Choose "Basic Algebra". Let me know if they help, or if you have questions--my Email address is at the bottom of each page of my website. Math is usually not as hard as it looks!!
