Question 31365: The axis of symmetry of a parabola is the line x=2. The point (4,-4) lies on the parabola. Use the symmetry of a parabola to find a second point on the graph.
Could someone tell me if I am supposed to be using a formula to solve this? I can't figure it out and feel like I'm overlooking the obvious!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
On a coordinate system, draw the line x=2.
Now plot the point (4,-4)
The point is two to the right of the line.
So a corresponding point must be two to
the left of the line: i.e. (0,-4)
