what quadratic function can represent the solutions of the roots -4 and 5/3?
.
If the roots are -4 and 5/3 then the quadratic function MUST have the following factors:
(x + 4) and (x - 5/3)
.
FOIL the two factors:
(x + 4)(x - 5/3)
x^2 - 5x/3 + 4x -20/3
x^2 - 5x/3 + 12x/3 -20/3
x^2 + 7x/3 -20/3 (this is your quadratic function)
