= x%5E2%2B1x%2B5x%2B5 = 0

= x%28x%2B1%29+%2B+5%28x%2B1%29 = 0

= (x+1)(x+5) = 0

so as per the equation,

either (x+1) = 0 or (x+5) = 0

So x = -1 or x = -5.

The solution set is {-1, -5}. Answer


It is always not necessary to use the formula to solve such problems. It
can be factorised as above and find out the solution set unless you are
asked to solve by using the formula.
