i think u have these parenthesies out of order if x=2 and x=4 for 2nd problem they should look like this:
S=-10%282%5E2%29%2B21%282%29%2B7 now simple order of opperations:() then * then +
S=-10%284%29%2B21%282%29%2B7
S=-40%2B42%2B7
S=9
