If 2 and 3 are roots then the following must be factors:
(x-2)
and
(x-3)
.
To find the equation, simply multiply the two factors together:
(x-2)(x-3)
x^2 - 3x -2x + 6
x^2 - 5x + 6 (this is what they're looking for)
