You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Can you tell me what 6 ordered pairs are for this problem x%5E2%2B4x%2B4?

Step 1. Let's define y=x%5E2%2B4x%2B4.

Step 2. Form two columns one for x and the for y. Try different values of x and substitute into equation in Step 1. We'll try points -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 to get 9 ordered pairs...extra credit :)

x y=x%5E2%2B4x%2B4 so ordered pair is (x,y)

-4 %28-4%29%5E2%2B4%2A%28-4%294%2B4=4 so ordered pair is (-4,4)

-3 -3%29%5E2%2B4%2A%28-3%29%2B4=1 so ordered pair is (-3,1)

-2 %28-2%29%5E2%2B4%2A%28-2%29%2B4=0 so ordered pair is (-2,0)

-1 -1%29%5E2%2B4%2A%28-1%29%2B4=1 so ordered pair is (-1,1)

0 0%5E2%2B4%2A0%2B4=4 so ordered pair is (0,4)

1 1%5E2%2B4%2A1%2B4=9 so ordered pair is (1,9)

2 2%5E2%2B4%2A2%2B4=16 so ordered pair is (2,16)

3 3%5E2%2B4%2A3%2B4=25 so ordered pair is (3,25)

4 4%5E2%2B4%2A4%2B4=36 so ordered pair is (4,36)

Step 3. ANSWER: Ordered pairs for this example are: (-4,4), (-3,1), (-2,0), (-1,1), (0,4), (1,9), (2,16), (3,25), (4,36)

Here's a graph of the equation y=x%5E2%2B4x%2B4 and see note there are ordered pairs as given above.

graph%28400%2C400%2C+-5%2C+5%2C+-5%2C+5%2C+x%5E2%2B4x%2B4%29

I hope the above steps were helpful.
