Question 206607: When solving a quadratic equation, if it can be solved by factoring, does this mean it has to be solved this way. I find using the formula method much easier, but I'm unsure if this method works for all quadratics?
Thanks!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
no, it doesn't unless the problem states that you have to solve it that way.
-----
the quadratic formula works for all quadratic equations, including the ones that can be factored.
-----
if you find that quicker and easier, then use it.
-----
same with completing the square.
-----
that's another way to solve quadratic equations.
-----
you only need to use those other methods if the problem is stated in such a way that those other methods have to be used.
