Question 199832: how to get an equation by itself when theres more than one variable on one side?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
By meaning more than one variable on one side I figure that you mean the same variable.
For example: let x be the the variable.
4x+7-3x=47
If you have two variables on the same side you take them and either add or subtract them.
So 4x-3x. In this case you subtract and you get x by itself.
x+7=47
Now you subtract 7 from both sides
x+7=47
-7 -7
---------
x=40
