x^2-5x-14=0 Invert 14 into quadratic form. Foil or do formula.
(x+2)(x-7)=0 In this case, it was easy to foil so I did that.
x+2=0 x-7=0
x= -2 & 7
LET'S CHECK.
-2^2-5(-2)=14
4+10=14
14=14
7^2-5(7)=14
49-35=14
14=14
