Well, you first have to simplify the %28x-2%29%5E2
To do that, you can either use FOIL or a%5E2%2B2ab%2Bb%5E2
I personally like to use the formula because it is much faster.
After simplifying you should get:
x%5E2-4x%2B4%2Bx%5E2=10
Add like terms
2x%5E2-4x%2B4=10
2x%5E2-4x-6=0
To solve
I would simplify it first
x%5E2-2x-3=0
You can factor or use the quadratic formula x+=+%28-b+%2B-+sqrt%28+b%5E2-4%2Aa%2Ac+%29%29%2F%282%2Aa%29+
I will factor because it is faster.
%28x-3%29%28x%2B1%29=0
X=3 or -1
