Question 184373: what is the wingspan of a bird weight 1.30 pound, if I use the rational exponent euation L= 2.43* W^0.3326 to estimate the wingspan L in feet of the bird"s weight.
I start of like this
L = 2.43* w^0.3326
L = 2.43* 1.30^0.3326
L =

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
L = 2.43* w^0.3326
L = 2.43* 1.30^0.3326
L = 2.43*1.0912
L=2.65 ans. for the wingspan.

So far, so good.

Now all you need to do is use your calculator. There is one built-in to Windows (Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Calculator).

Put it into the 'Scientific' Mode. (View -> Scientific).

Enter 1.30

Click the 'x^y' button (on the left side in the middle of the array of buttons with pink legends)

Enter 0.3326

Click the '=' button

Click the '*' button

Enter 2.43

Click the '=' button

Round off the result to two decimal places.

Done.

If you aren't operating under Windows, then any good scientific calculator will do the job, but you are on your own as to how to operate it.
