Divide both sides by 7 and you get xsquared=12, and taking the square root of both sides and you will get x=2squarerot of 3.

i must just add to this, sorry...
7x%5E2+=+84
x%5E2+=+12
x= +- sqrt%2812%29
x=+sqrt%2812%29 or x=-sqrt%2812%29
Whenever you take a square root, ALWAYS remember the negative version too! It is VERY important.
As for simplifying root12....
sqrt%2812%29 is sqrt%284%2A3%29
sqrt%284%29sqrt%283%29
2sqrt%283%29

x^2 = 84/7
x^2 = 12
x^2 - (Sqr12)^2=0
(x-sqr12)(x+sqr12)=0
(x-sqr12)=0 or (x+sqr12)=0
x = -sqr12 x = +sqr12
