Nope, that won't get you there.
Given: Perimeter = 144M and length is 9 m more than twice the width.
P+=+2L+%2B+2W = 144
L+=+2W+%2B+9+
144+=+2L+%2B+2W
144+=+2%282W%2B9%29+%2B+2W+
144+=+4W+%2B+18+%2B+2W
126+=+6W
W = 21
So L = 51
Check you answer. Does 144 = 2*51 + 2*21???
