You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(-5, -9) and (-3, -2)
THE EQUATION OF THE LINE THROUGH THESE 2 POINTS IS:
Y=mX+b WHERE m=SLOPE & b=Y INTERCEPT.
FIRST WE FIND THE SLOPE:
SLOPE=(Y2-Y1)/(X2-X1)
SLOPE=(-2+9)/(-3+5)
SLOPE=7/2
NOW REPLACE THE X & Y TERMS BY ONE SET OF VALUES & SOLVE FOR b
-9=7/2*-5+b
-9=-35/2+b
b=-9+35/2
b=-9+17.5
b=8.5 ANSWER FOR THE Y INTERCEPT.
Y=7X/2+8.5 IS THIS LINE EQUATION THROUGH THE POINTS (-5,-9) & (-3,-2).
