5x+%2B+y+=+1 is the equation of a sraight line
To see the slope,m, I transform it into the
slope-intercept form, y+=+mx+%2B+b
5x+%2B+y+=+1
subtract 5x from both sides
y+=+-5x+%2B+1 This is the slope-intercept form
m+=+-5
Another way to look at slope is: when x changes,
how much does y change? The slope is
m = (change in y) / (change in x)
