The area of the pool is 6498 ft2.

A = Lw

w is x

L is 2x

6498 = 2x(x)

2x^2 = 6498

x^2 = 3299

x = 57ft , the width of the swimming pool

L = 2x =  114ft

57ft*114ft =6498ft^2
