Question 111388: How do I write a quadratic equation for a parabola given the vertex and the y-intercept?
I am also attempting to determine the values of "a" and "b" in the equation.
Ordered pairs are as follows:
(0,53)- y-intercept
(2,35)- vertex
(4,42)
(6,54)
(8,82)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the general equation for a parabola with vertex (h,k) is y=a(x-h)^2+k

plugging in the vertex gives y=a(x-2)^2+35

plugging in one of the points will give you the value of a and the specific equation
