You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I'm not sure whether you meant: x%2B%286%2F3%29=x%2B%286%2Fx%29 or %28x%2B6%29%2F3=%28x%2B6%29%2Fx.
:
x%2B%286%2F3%29=x%2B%286%2Fx%29
x%2B2-x=x-x%2B%286%2Fx%29
2=6%2Fx
12=1%2Fx
x=1%2F12
:
Or if you meant the second way:
:
%28x%2B6%29%2F3=%28x%2B6%29%2Fx. For this you need to remember the following rule:
if p%2Fq=r%2Fs, then ps=rq. In this case:
x%28x%2B6%29=3%28x%2B6%29
x%5E2%2B6x=3x%2B18
x%5E2%2B3x-18=0
%28x%2B6%29%28x-3%29=0
Hence:
x=-6 or x=3
Both of which are in the domain of the function, since the only real number excluded from the domain is 0 -- the right side of the equation would be undefined for x = 0.
:
To avoid confusion next time, use parentheses, like this: (x+6)/3=(x+6)/x
