1.  The length of each side is 1/4 of the perimeter.


2.  The lines from #2 till #5 


       a)  make no sense.


       b) are IRRELEVANT to the line #1.

Of course a negative answer makes no sense in the actual problem, so x is 5. Then the side lengths are
x+4 = 9
x+5 = 10
2x-2 = 8
x^2-2x = 15

The perimeter is
9+10+8+15 = 42 CHECK!
