Solve by using the Square Root Property
%28x-5%29%5E2=7
If we have
x%5E2++=++k+
then we can take+the+square+root of both+sides to solve for+x.

For any positive number k,
if
x%5E2+=+k+
then
x+++=+sqrt%28k%29 or +x++=++-+sqrt%28k%29
so, we will have:
%28x-5%29%5E2=7
sqrt%28%28x-5%29%5E2%29=sqrt%287%29
x-5=sqrt%287%29........move -5 to the right
x+=+5+%2B+sqrt%287%29...................sqrt%287%29=+2.65
x+=+5+%2B+2.65
x+=+7.65

Now solve for x

x+=+5+%2B+sqrt%287%29 answer
and
x+-+5+=+-+sqrt%287%29
x+=+5+-+sqrt%287%29 answer
Now check both answers
%285+%2B+sqrt%287%29+-+5%29%5E2+=+7
%28%2B+sqrt%287%29%29%5E2+=+7
7+=+7
OK
