You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The points (2,v) and (1,-6) fall on a line with a slope of 10. What is the value of v?
first find equation of the line: y=mx%2Bb where m is a slope and b is y-intercept
since given: point (1,-6) and m=10, we have
-6=10%2A1%2Bb
-6-10=b
b=-16
so, your equation is: y=10x-16
now find v
(2,v)=> x=2 and y=v
v=10%2A2-16
v=20-16
v=4
and your point is:(2,4)

All you need to do is apply the slope formula: matrix%281%2C3%2C+m%2C+%22=%22%2C+%28y%5B1%5D+-+y%5B2%5D%29%2F%28x%5B1%5D+-+x%5B2%5D%29%29
%28v+-+-+6%29%2F%282+-+1%29+=+10 ------- Substituting
%28v+%2B+6%29%2F1+=+10
v + 6 = 10 ------- Cross-multiplying
