Applying this to the expression %2849x%5E2+-+42x+%2B+9%29:
a+=+sqrt%2849%29+=+7
b+=+sqrt%289%29+=+3
check:
2ab+=+2+%2A+7+%2A+3+=+42
so:
49x%5E2+-+42x+%2B+9+=+%287x+-+3%29%5E2
