You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A square is already complete there.
However, 2x%2B2=2%28x%2B1%29 , and we love factoring.
So, you could express %282x%2B2%29%5E2%2B3 another way,
,
and that is probably what was expected.

If they showed you the polynomial
4x%5E2%2B8x%2B7 ,
looking at the part with x ,
you would see a square on one x and another loose x ."Completing the square" is getting all the x's in a neat little square-of-a-binomial package.
4x%5E2%2B8x%2B7=4x%5E2%2B8x%2B4%2B3=4%28x%5E2%2B2x%2B1%29%2B3=4%28x%2B1%29%5E2%2B3
