In this video lesson I show how to graph quadratic functions. First of all, the graph of a quadratic function is called a parabola. Also, it is important that parabolas are all curved- you can't use a ruler to draw one perfectly like you could a line. So we only use two points on the parabola and do the best we can to draw it accurately based on these points. The points we take are the vertex and the y-intercept. The y-intercept is the easiest point to find, because you plug in x=0. The vertex is where the parabola curves back, so it is the best for accurately sketching parabolas. I do three examples in this video- one in each of standard, root, and vertex forms. For more details, see the video!
