Question 53308: The instructions say to sketch the graph of the quadratic function. Identify the vertex & x-intercept(s). I seem to be lost. I know to 1st factor it (I don't believe this can be factored). Then complete the square. I think this gives me x=2.549 & x-2.549 so,x={2.549,2.549} I do believe something went very wrong here & beyond. HELP!

Question 53438: Please help. I put on problem on a few moments ago but here is my last one and I can show you what I I have so far. I am really not good at this but am really trying.
Define a variable, write the equation and then solve.
Three times the greatest of 3 consecutive even integers exceeds twice the least by 38. Find the integers.
So I have so far on my paper (x)+(x+2)+(x+4) to represent the 3 integers right?
Then do I represent three times the greatest by 3x on the outside of the numbers or do I include all my integers by using 3 as an exponent? This is where I am confused and get stuck.
Thank you for any help.

Question 54415: -x^2 > or = 9x+14 Please help!! I have to solve and show the solution in interval and algebraic form. I got through most of the problem but need help with the notation, and also want to confirm that I solved it right. -x^2-9x-14 > or = 0 factored is (-x-2)(x+7) so I got x= -2 and x= -7 as test points and by testing the regions on the number line, I found that -1 through +infinity does not work in the original problem. Im not sure where to go from here or how the interval notation should look. Thanks, Angela
