I need to write a quadic formula
also I have the vertex (-1,6) and the y intercept =3
and I have to write a quadric formula for that also.
Can you tell me the steps to writing a formula from this information?

Using the vertex and the point, solve for "a":
3 = a(-1-2)^2-3
6 = a(9)
a = 2/3

y = (2/3)(x-2)^2 -3

y = (2/3)x^2 - (8/3)x - 1/3
