For the first equation, multiply both sides by 4 and get 2x%2Bx=20 which simplifies to 3x=20. Now divide both sides by 3 and get x=20%2F3.


For the 2nd equation, multiply both sides by 5 to get 25x-35x=12 which cimplifies to -10x=12. Dividing both sides by -10 gives us x=-12%2F10 or x=-6%2F5.
