Solutions:
Given: Area= 27 square feet
Length=x-3
width=x+3
Area= Length x width
27=(x-3)(x+3) we know (a-b)(a+b)=a^2-b^2
27= x^2 -9
x^2=36
x= square root of 36
x=6
Therefore length=x-3=6-3=3
Width=x+3=6+3=9
So, length=3feet
width=9 feet
