Question 326913: Quadratic equations can be solved by graphing, using the quadratic formula, completing the square, and factoring. What are the pros and cons of each of these methods? When might each method be most appropriate? Which method do you prefer? Why?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Graphing-Pro:Quick, Con:Unless it's an integer solution, you're just guessing, also, even integer answers require verification.
Factoring-Pro:Quick too, Con: Not all forms are factorable.
Completing the Square-Pro:Gives you vertex form to find min or max quickly, gives an exact answer. Con: Requires more time.
Quadratic formula-Pro:Exact answer, can tell immediately if roots are real. Con: Requires more time.
I prefer graphing to get a quick view to check for integer solutions and also if complex roots are present (graph doesn't cross the x-axis).
Once I take a look, then I move forward.
I also have a quick solver where I plug in a,b,c and it gives me the roots, real or complex.
