Question 246123: Factor the quadratic. 2b(6b+13)=-12
I get 12b^2+26b+12=0 but not sure what to do next. May I please ask for assistance in solving this quadratic equation? Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website! You are correct so far! Now you need to factor the left side. Start by taking out a common factor of 2:
12b^2 +26b+12=0
2(6b^2 +13b+6)=0
The trinomial needs to be factored. This is the hard part, which I call "Advanced Trinomial Factoring". You may want to see this lesson on my website, which I will explain later. For now, you can factor this into
2(3b+2)(2b+3)=0
The 2 does not affect the solutions at all. You have two solutions:
First,
3b+2=0
3b=-2
b=-2/3
Second,
2b+3=0
2b=-3
b=-3/2
