You can put this solution on YOUR website!
At least you should know how to type square correctly.
y =-(x+2)^2/4-1 is equivalent to
y+1 = -(x+2)^2/4 ,
Since -(x+2)^2/4 <= 0, y +1 <= 0 or y <= -1 for all x.
This parabola concaves downward(so it is open downward.)
Its vertex is (-2,-1).

Since y+1 = -(x+2)^2/4 = -4/16 (x+2)^2 = -4a(x+2)^2, a = 1/16.
Focus: (-2 ,-1- 1/16) = (-2,-17/16)
Axis of Symmetry: x+2 = 0
Directrix: y= -1+ 1/16= -5/16
