Question 138748: I did try to work these out but not sure if i am right...please take a look for me...thanks
You recently started the paperwork to purchase your new home, and you were just notified that you can move into the house in 2 weeks. You decide to hire a moving company, but are unsure which company to choose. You search online and are interested in contacting two companies, Heavy Lifters and Quick Move, to discuss their rates. Heavy Lifting charges an $80 fee plus $35 per hour. Quick Move charges $55 per hour with no additional fees.
a) Which mover provides a better deal for 2 hours of work? How did you arrive at your answer? For this it would be $110 for the Quick move, and $150 for Heavy Lifting. So Quick move would be cheaper correct?
b) Which mover provides a better deal for 15 hours of work? How did you arrive at your answer? If you didnt get charged for a heavy lifting charge heavy lifting would be better, but if you got the lifting charge it would be better to go with the other one. So how do I no??? It doesnt say.
c) For what values h (hours) does Quick Move offer the better deal? Express your answer as an inequality. Explain how you reached your answer.
THIS ONE??? b = 55, a = 115
Can someone Help me with this word problem I hate these things, I never understand exactly what I am supposed to do... DId I get any of these right??

You can put this solution on YOUR website! a) good work
b) even with the flat charge, HL is better __ 80+35(15)=605 vs 55(15)=825
c) better deal means QM cost is LESS __ h(55)<80+h(35)
__ subtracting 35h __ 20h<80
__ dividing by 20 __ h<4
__ so if h is less than 4, QM is a better deal
FYI __ Heavy Lifting is the name of the company and they have a flat charge rate structure
__ there is no "heavy lifting" charge
