Question 973084: What is the real number solution to 2x²-4x+2 = 0

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x²-4x+2 = 0
Divide every number by 2:

expr%282%2F2%29x%5E2-expr%284%2F2%29x%2B2%2F2%22%22=%22%220%2F2

x²-2x+1 = 0

Factor the left side:

(x-1)(x-1) = 0

Use the zero-factor property:

x-1 = 0; x-1 = 0
  x = 1;   x = 1

They are both the same, so there is just one real-number solution.

That solution is x = 1.
