The polynomial of least degree that would have i and -i as roots are %28x-i%29%28x%2Bi%29+=+x%5E2+-+i%5E2+=+x%5E2%2B+1+=+0. x%5E2%2B1+=+0 is the answer. ( Note that ANY multiple of this equation would also have i and-i as roots.)
