Question 272154: Okay so I'm learning about rational functions in my 9th grade algebra class. I'm having trouble graphing y=4(1/x) from the y=x form, no it is not a parabola.
I know that 4 is the vertical stretch, but I don't know where to start to begin graphing it.
How do you vertically graph y=4(1/x)? Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! It is a hyperbola.
x never equals zero and y never equals 0.
if x is positive then y is positive and visa versa
if x is negative then y is negative and visa versa
I don't know what you mean that 4 is the vertical stretch.
