Question 845061: Hi. This problem is kind of confusing me.
Tom can paint a fence in 8 hours. Huck can paint the same fence in 5 hours. How long would it take to put two coats of paint on the fence if Tom and Huck work together? (Leave the answer in improper fraction form)
Here's what I came with so far:
1/8 + 1/5= 1/t (t for time)
=5t/40 + 8t/40=13t/40
=13t/12 = 40/13
=t=40/13
But what to do next? How do I find the time it would take them to paint two coats on the fence? DO I multiply by 2?
Help please.

Question 845497: Hi. I need some help solving this problem please.
Jack can mow the baseball grounds in 6 hours; Mike can mow the same grounds in 5 hours and Chris can mow the grounds in 4 hours. How long will it take to mow the grounds if all 3 work together? (Leave the answer in improper fraction form)
This is what I came up with but i'm not too sure:
1/6 + 1/5 + 1/4 = 1/t(time)
10t + 12t + 15t= 37t
37t/37 = 60/37 t=60/37
Thanks in advance.

Question 847734: A room is 20 feet long. If a couch that is 12 1/3 feet long is to be centered in the room, how big of a table can be placed on either side of the couch?
I get that you would have to subtract the 12 1-3 from the 20 feet. I then get you have to take that answer and divide it by 2 (because the couch is centered so you would have the amount of space on either side). The problem I am having is getting the fraction to come out right and showing my work correctly.
